This is a POV of the Sheep Rock at the lesser known Second Unit of John Day Fossil Beds National Monument. Sheeprock Unit, which receive much less attention than the Painted Hills Unit here on TE. Unfortunately when I arrived here it was late in the day, the visitor office was close and I was trying to get to our campsite before it get really dark. I didn’t have a lot of time to discover the area very well other than a few shots here.
There is a closer POV of the rock by Steve and he’s got really wonderful detailed description of this Rock. He is quite an expert and has extensive knowledge of this area, and he is organizing a TE meeting in Painted Hill this June I believe, he has arrange some guided tour from the ranger who can take them to all the locations that a normal visitor will not get to see.
