Celadonite Flavoured, Oregon.

This was taken on Highway 19 north of the Painted Hills. This tuff (rock formed from compacted volcanic fragments) contains a mineral called celadonite, a greenish rock that has a high iron content. The different colour layers are a result of different chemical compositions in a particular volcanic eruption.
